Plate and Frame Filter Press
Uniwin plate and frame filter press provides a practical and flexible solution for industrial solid-liquid separation. The alternating plate-and-frame structure forms independent filter chambers, helping achieve stable filtration and reliable filter cake formation.
Suitable for sludge dewatering, chemical processing, mining, stone wastewater, food processing, and other filtration applications.
Product Overview
The plate-and-frame filter press is a type of batch filtration equipment that achieves solid-liquid separation by pumping fluid into filter chambers formed by an alternating arrangement of filter plates and frames. The fundamental difference between the plate-and-frame filter press and the recessed-plate (chamber) filter press lies in the structural formation of the filter chambers:
In a plate-and-frame filter press, the filter chamber is formed by the combination of a plate and a frame, with the frame determining the chamber’s thickness.
In a recessed-plate filter press, the unit consists directly of recessed filter plates, and the filter chamber is naturally formed by the cavities in the plate surfaces.
Advantages of Plate-and-Frame Filter Presses

Plate and Frame Filter Press VS Chamber Filter Press
3 Key Differences
Different Filter Plates
- Uses a separate plate and frame structure
- The filter chamber is formed by a plate + frame combination
- Suitable for flexible filtration requirements
- Integrated chamber design without a separate frame
- The filter plate is molded as a single-chamber structure
- The filter plate is molded as a single-chamber structure
Different Feed Inlets
- Slurry enters through an angled feed port
- Feed rate is relatively slow
- Slurry enters through a central feed port
- Material distributes more quickly and evenly
- Feed pressure is more uniform
Different Filter Cloth Installation Methods
- The filter cloth is suspended from each individual filter plate
- Replacement and maintenance are more flexible
- Sealing performance is relatively weak
- The filter cloth is secured to the recessed filter plate
- It is typically laid flat by passing it through the center hole
- Sealing performance is superior
