Working Principle of Cyclone Desander

The working principle of cyclone desander is to separate the solid particles suspended in the liquid by the effect of cyclone. Solid particles settle at the bottom of the equipment and are expelled through the drainage outlet below. Clean water will flow from the middle guide pipe through the outlet to the subsequent pipeline.

When water flows into the desander tangentially from the water inlet under a certain pressure, a strong rotation motion is generated, and the water swirls downward. Due to the different densities of sand and water, the water with low density rises under the action of centrifugal force, centripetal force, buoyancy, and fluid electricity, and is discharged from the outlet. The sand particles with high density fall into the conical hopper at the bottom of the equipment along the cone wall under the action of fluid inertia centrifugal force and their own gravity. When the debris in the hopper reaches a certain level, it can be flushed out with the water flow by opening the manual butterfly valve.
